The vast majority of these challenges are around titles that were written by or about members of the LGBTQIA+ community and people of color. This year, the American Library Association reported the highest number of attempted book bans since they began compiling data about censorship in libraries more than 20 years ago. I wish I had been able to take a step back and get the rest of the desk/chair in this photo but it still came out pretty well. I think the library was awesome - it had some amazing colors. They were closing up the place as we were walking through the Mansion and I didn’t have much time to stop and click away, so I managed to get this shot off just before they kicked us out.
